“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. We get bad breaks from good shots, good breaks from bad shots but we have to play the ball where it lies.”

-Bobby Jones

Hi there! My name is Isabelle and I go by Is. I’m honored and humbled that you are here reading this. I’m on a mission here. I’m on a mission to inspire golfers and golfers to be to bring the spirit and philosophy into the game of life. Because life is just a bigger game.

Ever since I was a young girl, I always felt a sense of urgency to contribute to the world. The question that was always engraved in my mind was “What is my purpose? Why was I put on this earth?”

I went through my adult life restless, impatient, hungry and searching, unable to find my passion and purpose. I jumped from hobby to hobby, career to career, always one foot in, one foot out, unfulfilled. I played competitive golf for 10 years, playing competitive junior, college golf and then a few mini tour events. I always struggled, I could never play to my true potential.

Having played golf for more than a decade, the most powerful lesson I’ve learned is that my brain is my handicap. There was a time when I practiced till my hands were rough with calluses, my feet had been imprinted into the practice green and I was on my longest streak of not breaking 80. It discouraged me to the point that I contemplated quitting. One day, my sister came home to show me a technique that she had learned from her sports psychologist. It was called a trigger, where you drew a “1” and stick figure inside a circle on your glove. The “1” was meant to remind you to play one shot at a time and the stick figure symbolized the support of the most important person in your life. The trigger was the last thing you looked at before you hit your shot.

The next tournament I shot 75, 73 and 70.

I absolutely loved golf, don’t get me wrong. I think I always knew that it wasn’t my path to pursue golf professionally but that it would remain a huge part of my life. The greatest lesson that I have learned in my 12 years of playing is that mindset is everything. It can save lives, stop wars and change the world. I believe in the power of the universe, that we attract what we are. I believe that we are all on our own path and that everything happens for a reason. I also believe that how you play golf is how you play life.

So I’d like to make a proposal that we play better golf which will then translate into a better life. I’m all about efficiency so I love this idea of killing two birds with one stone.

Let’s get started.

When someone’s happiness is your happiness, that is love. -Lana Del Rey How would you describe the world’s best caddy?  If you were to ask me, my answer would be several things:  Someone who believes in team work– It’s an us mentality, instead of a “you”. • Action & Letting Go of Outcome

    December 2, 2019 by

Letting go of outcome does not mean inaction. -Isabelle Shee I’ve always thought that actions, (i.e. practicing hard for a tournament) and controlling outcome (i.e. playing well in the tournament) came hand in hand. And they do, unless you actively work on it.  When I was playing competitively, I would spend 7 hours, 7 days… Read more

  • Acknowledging Fear

    November 27, 2019 by

“Of all the hazards, fear is the worst.” -Sam Snead Ah. Fear, the other four-letter f word in golf. It consumes and manipulates your mind, sabotages your intentions and plants doubt during executions. Fear is such a nuisance of an emotion because it creeps in at the most inconvenient times, usually when there is something… Read more
